The primary treatment for nasopharynx is radiation therapy. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill cancer cells or to stop them from growing further. Usually, cancer cell are more sensitive to radiation damage than normal cell. Treatment to be made is in the area back of the throat or the lymph glands in the neck. Radiations have two types they are External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT) and Internal Beam Radiotherapy.

    • External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT)

This treatment uses high-energy rays from the treatment machine directed to the area to be treated. It usually gives the treatment 5 days a week for 6 to 7.

    • Internal Beam Radiotherapy

This treatment also called Brachytherapy where a small radioactive material or tiny radioactive are placed directly into the cancer or very near it. It will be removed once the treatment is completed.

    • Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is the treatment of cancer that using anti-cancer drugs. This treatment will destroy cancer cells while causing the least possible damage to the normal and stop cancer cells from growing and reproduce. Usually, this drug will given by injection.
